Commissioning A Job


RATES:


LABOR RATE:

$85.00/hour - Please note that we bid jobs at time and materials only. We do not offer price per linear foot, etc.


CUSTOM ARTWORK/DESIGN TIME:

For the basic initial design, (we allow for two hours for basic initial design) at no charge. Any further drawing/design work beyond that will be charged at our $85.00 hourly rate.


TERMS:

To get your project on our calendar we require a 10 percent minimum deposit for all jobs except for copper. Copperwork requires a 30 percent deposit due to the high cost of material. We require a 50% deposit for out of town orders-no exceptions.


Balance will be due in full at the time of installation or prior to delivery if out of town (see "out of town" terms below)

ORDERING PROCESS:


This is a custom metal design and fabrication shop. Though you may find our prices to be higher, please understand that we are not trying to compete with the production iron shops.


Our goal is to create a quality custom metal piece just for you, unique, custom designed and hand made. We will not duplicate anything in someone else's home and we will not duplicate another artist's work


To begin our relationship, there will be an initial consultation / design visit or phone conversation. This will typically be to review any plans and/or communicate with designers, contractors and home owners. We often request sketches or photos if you already have a design in mind, or we can create a detailed drawing based on your input and submit it for your approval.


PROCESSING:


We take orders first come first serve. We cannot reserve spots on our calendar without the minimum downpayment.


Your project will not go on our calendar until we have recieved your signed proposal, confirmation of price and design and a minimum 10 percent (30 percent for copper work/ 50 percent for out of town orders) deposit.


Out of town orders $1,000.00 and under must be paid in full at the time of ordering. Your signed proposal may be accompanied by check, cash or money order. We do accept credit card payments through our Pay Pal account. Once all of the above is in place, we will begin processing your order.


Please read the following carefully: When you place your order, you sign a contract that is legally binding for both you and The Metal Shoppe. We accommodate cancellations according to our progress and expenses incurred.


  • If you wish to cancel your contract / order within 24 hours of sending your signed proposal/contract and initial deposit payment, you may do so in writing via email or fax without penalty. We will send your check back to you.

  • If you wish to cancel within 48 hours after we receive your payment, but before we proceed with processing your order, i.e. ordering material, etc., you may do so in writing via email or fax. In this case, we will refund all but 20% of the deposit total and will send a refund check to you.

  • After we start preparing your order, ordered material, etc., you may cancel the order, but your deposit is forfeited at this point.

  • If we have already begun fabricating your order, you cannot cancel at this point and payment will be expected in full per the signed proposal.


In most cases, we can begin fabrication of your piece within *8-10 weeks for larger projects. *We recommend that you call for a current schedule.


The custom work at The Metal Shoppe is primarily done by Eric and Debra http://acopperrose.com. We have chosen to keep our shop small and intimate for economic reasons and for quality control. We are skilled craftspeople and we take the time necessary to produce a quality product.


Please note:We are frequently scheduled out 8-10 weeks - PLEASE CALL FOR A CURRENT SCHEDULE. We will give you a reasonable and realistic ESTIMATION OF COMPLETION. If there are changes in design following acceptance of proposals, this will likely result in delays. If there are changes in design after construction has begun, this will result not only in obvious delays, and will likely result in adjustments to the originally quoted price.

Initially, you need to get the specifications/information about your metal project to our shop via fax or email (on occasion, verbal description may be sufficient). Drawings are best, but written dimensions can be enough to get started. We'll normally ask you what ever questions we deem necessary to ensure we understand what you are requesting.


If you are satisfied that we are quoting what you want and you are ready to buy it, we will prepare a formal proposal/ contract with details and payment terms. We fax or mail the contract to you.


You'll need to read it carefully, sign it, and send it back to us along with the specified payment. (PLEASE REFER TO OUR ORDERING/COMMISSION section ABOVE detailing information above regarding downpayments, methods of payment, etc.)


All out of town orders over $1,000.00 will require a 50% deposit with the balance due in full prior to shipment. Any orders $1,000.00 or under must be paid in full upon ordering.


Once we receive your signed proposal and payment, we'll put your project on our schedule. At this point, in order to actually begin fabricating your order, we'll need a signed spec sheet(s) or signed drawing(s) created for your final approval and clarification of details.


We can accept credit card payments for orders $1,000.00 or under through Pay Pal.


DEFECTS/DISCREPANCIES:


Please read the following carefully:We guarantee our products against defects in material or workmanship for (1 ) one year. If we determine that we have shipped you items that do not match the contract or the specifications that we have agreed on as specified in the contract and approved drawings that you signed, we'll gladly correct the problem by replacement, repair, or refund, as we deem appropriate, and we will pay the freight. We will not pay for a new crate so it is important that you not destroy your crate until you are satisfied that all is well with your order. We recommend that you make every effort to report any material defects or discrepancies before installation of the product. If the item has already been installed, we will still honor any valid claim, but we will not pay or make allowance for your cost of un-installing or removing the item. If we deem your claim valid by phone, we will determine how we will resolve it, either by local service, shipment back to us, or replacement. If we cannot determine definite validity of your claim over the phone, we will require that you ship the item back to us for determination of the defect at your expense. If we determine upon examination that your claim is valid, we will compensate you for the shipping. If we determine your claim is not valid, we will not pay the freight, and we will charge a service fee for checking your item plus a handling fee for the re-crating of your item. You will also have to pay for shipment back to you.

We do not offer refunds or exchanges on custom work except as noted above.
